OK, I am very concerned that Amy was the only one who commented on my water-choking incident in my last blog. Do y'all understand that I really choked...I mean couldn't breathe in air...and my husband AND son had to give me the heimlich in a parking lot of a huge major hospital? Don't you find it shocking? And rare? And dangerously frightening? And just plain ridiculous?
Or all y'all not even goin' there because it was me...and we can just chalk that one up to yet another of my doesn't-make-sense-but I'm-fine-now-near-death experiences?

I'm going to go with "all of the above"! :) But I'm glad you're ok.
Actually I was reading the story and I was remembering way back when to a time when we were at your house and you choked on a gumball or jawbreaker or something. It was purple. I don't know why I remember that detail, other than I was obviously tramatized by it. We were all in Jill's room, i think, and someone (one of our dads, I'm sure) gave you the heimlich (i can't spell it...) and I was thinking what the odds are of having to have that done to yourself more than once in a lifetime.... and my mind wandered and I never did get around to commenting. But thats what I was thinking.
Does anyone else remember that? Did it really happen or am I just remembering an old dream or something?
Hmm........
It really happened...and it was easter...and while I don't remember the color or type of food, I thought it was my mom who gave me the heimlich.
Sorry, but I was in too much shock from seeing a blog from Lisa. Now I'm perplexed (once a blonde...) I've choked many times on liquids, but outside of water boarding, I guess I never thought about water actually blocking the airway. I'm glad you're ok, thankful for your guys, and celebrate your uniqueness.
I was concerned, but was too tired, lazy, in a hurry, etc. to comment! :) And I do remember the choking incident from our childhood... just didn't know Lori was there. It was one of those brach's pick a mix round (sphere) candies. I have to say I've never eaten them since because I assume I'd choke on them. Do they even make those anymore?? See brenda, i do care when you choke, to the point that i knew the candy from 20 some years ago when you didn't! And as far as the water, I was thinking it was more like the guys were being guys and pretending to give you the heimlich when you really didn't need it... so sorry about that!
Sorry about not commenting but I am not good at "multi-tasking" and there were so many interesting parts to your blog I forgot the choking one. Will be more diligent next time. Glad the guys were there for you. MOM
See, I just chalked it up to one of many near-death experiences for you. You should think about redirecting your blog to address just this topic.
wow. Jill remembers it even better than i did! see Brenda, you traumatized us all with your choking incident.
Haha, Nancy....waterboarding...does anyone else around here watch "it's always sunny in philadelphia"? they had an episode where danny devito was waterboarding dee in the urinal. funny stuff. made me think of that episode when you said that...
Didn't you also nearly choke to death on water when we were swimming with Deb right before Grandpa L's funeral? OR was that Jill?
I am concerned! Really!!! :)
