Last Sunday we had a big day out in the city. Since we have moved here, we have been busy settling in. Thanks to Pippi (Jill's class project) we decided to take the kids to the stockyards to explore their new town. We had lunch at Risky's barbecue. We also walked around and checked out the longhorn, the Indian with his painted horse, and a crazy balloon clown who made longhorn balloon hats. After lunch we wandered into some tacky souvenir shops and then Marcus rode the mechanical bull.
After that we drove downtown and ran into the watergardens. The kids, and Pippi of course, took a walk all the way down to the bottom.
Here are some photos...don't worry, JIll, we won't send your students all of the Pippi photos...she got a little wild and crazy in the stockyards and we had to cut her off!

Maybe leave out the one with Pippi and the giant margarita?? :) Thanks for taking her out. The first 2 pippi's have come back and I'm so impressed with what they did. The one that came today was a scrapbook with a souvenir from NYC! Love those water gardens. Remember going there my first visit.
You did all our favorite things--the Stockyards, Risky's (ummm) and so glad to see the water gardens are still up and working. Did Pippi get a balloon hat? MOM
Has the city change much? I haven't been there for almost ten years now. Looks like you had a lot of fun! Kathleen
Love the girls and the balloon horns. I'll bet Jessica would like those. It's really cool to check your blog and see a place I recognize. Looked like a fun day.
Looks like a fun day! My inner cowgirl spirit thinks I may need to experience that tour myself one of these days. Aunt Barb
